‘Bonnie & Clyde’ is the thrilling musical with a soundtrack from Frank Wildhorn and Don Black and a book by Ivan Menchell. After the musical’s premiere in 2009, ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ made it’s brief Broadway debut in December 2011. Years later, in January 2022, the musical gained enormous popularity following a West End run and news of a UK and Ireland tour.

Based on real-life fugitives, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, this musical takes place in West Texas during the Great Depression. After being released from jail, Clyde, a charming young man with dreams to be a renowned criminal, meets Bonnie, a waitress who fantasises about becoming a movie star, and the two fall in love. Their combined goal to be infamous and live exciting lives of fame, fortune and thrills leads them to a life on the run from the law. Where will this spiral take them? What happens now that their story of intoxicating love, adventure and criminal exploits has captured the attention of the entire country? They can’t evade the law forever…

‘It girl’ is a phrase that Bonnie Parker frequently uses to describe who she wants to be. She dreams of being a film star despite her current job as a waitress. She envisages herself rivalling famous actress Clara Bow for the title of ‘It Girl’. Bonnie’s wish to be a celebrity with serious notoriety is made know from the moment we meet her in the song ‘Picture Show’ where she sings “It must be great to be called the ‘It Girl’, your face on every magazine. That’s where I’m gonna end up one day, trust me… It must be great to be called the ‘It Girl’, that isn’t what they’re calling me but one day soon I bet you they will, trust me.”
