Beetlejuice the Musical is based on the 1988 Tim Burton movie of the same name and has become very popular, not just with those who enjoyed the original movie, but with a much younger audience as well. It’s a dark comedy that follows Betelgeuse, the ghost-with-the-most who happens to have a thing for stripes, as he pursues to once again be seen by the living.
The Original Broadway cast included Alex Brightman and Sophia Anne Caruso in the starring roles of Beetlejuice (also spelt Betelgeuse) and the strange and unusual Lydia Deetz. The cast also included names well-known in the theatre such as Kerry Butler, Rob McClure and Leslie Kritzer.
